Sled Lane Pond

Sled Lane is at NZ127632. To get there, turn off the Prudhoe/Blaydon bypass (A695) take the sharp right turn off the road AFTER the Crawcrook turn, marked for Bradley Hall. Take 2nd left (1st is Bradley Hall), 2nd is Bradley Nurseries. Drive along road, past the pond on right. Park sensibly outside the nurseries carpark and walk back to view the pond.

In 2004/2005 winter this water held up to 10 Goosander and a juvenile Whooper Swan. Tufted Duck and Little Grebe are resident and Kingfishers are occasionally seen. In the past 18 months this site has also recorded Wigeon, Pochard, Goldeneye, Merlin and Peregrine.
