The Best Bird
Grey-cheeked Thrush
The bird was found on the 11th October on Tresco at Borough Farm. The
boys joined a total of 474 birders packed into 5+ boats from St. Marys.
As the birders got off the boat they raced to the site on the other side
of the island. However the Gateshead boys were much cooler and stopped
off to scope both a Black Duck on the Abbey Pool and a Pectoral Sandpiper
on the Great Pool before casually wandering up to get excellent views
of the thrush.
