Shibdon Pond - 3 Water Rail probably adult and 2 young. A pair of Whooper Swans flying quite high circled the pond then flew of south at first light.
Far Pasture NR - Red Kite 1, Pheasant 5, Grey Heron 1, Kestrel 1, Long Tailed Tits 6, Blackbird 1, Robin 1, Blue Tit 1, Wren 1, Moorhen 2, Goldfinches 4, Coot 2, Woodpigeon 10+, Black headed Gull 2.
Sled Lane Pond - Shoveler 3, Wigeon 10+, Sparrowhawk 1, Canada Geese 2, Mute Swan 4, Tufted Duck 10+, Coot 10+, Mallard 20+, Little Grebe 1, Moorhen 2, Green Woodpecker 1.
Clara Vale NR - Kingfisher 1, Mallard 2, Pheasant 2, Moorhen 2, Blackbird 4, Jay 2, Magpie 5, Great Tit 5, Wren 2, Redwing 1, Mistle Thrush 1, Coal Tit 1, Blue Tit 1, Robin 1, Coal Tit 1, Long Tailed Tit 6, Woodpigeon 10+, Collared Dove

Chopwell area -A yaffling Green Woodpecker near Victoria Garesfield, 8 Red Kites circling and 8+ Lesser Redpoll flew over calling. 2 probable Crossbills near Lntzford.
Rowlands Gill - Juvenile Peregrine cirling them flew off towards Barlow

Shibdon Pond - At first light a Peregrine stooped in and caught a Teal beside the island. Also 1 Pink-footed Goose.
Lamesley Water Meadows - 102 Teal, 68 Greylag Geese, 3 Common Buzzard with perhaps a 4th along Greenford Lane. Also a Red Admiral
Birtley reedbed pools - 26 Teal and a Common Buzzard

Derwent walk - Rugby Club to Winlaton Mill - 8:10 - 9:10 - 2-3 Dipper. 2+ Grey Wagtail, 10+ Siskin, 1 Fieldfare flying over and a pair of Goosander flying over towards Tyne

Shibdon Pond - 200 +Redshank, 200+Teal and 100+Lapwing at first light. Pair of Grey Wagtail in the afternoon.

Birtley - A Godwit sp. flew north over the town centre towards Lamesley but could not be relocated there. Several flocks of Redwing over and a Tawny Owl calling in evening

East Bradley Fell - At least 50 Tree Sparrow in hedgerow between stubble fields plus a good scattering of Yellowhammer across the area.

Lamesley area - Green Sandpiper on the water meadows but no sign of the Common Crane today.

Lamesley area - The Common Crane still present in Ouslaw Lane (Kibblesworth - Lamesley) and also viewable from Greenford Lane, though distant. 6 Red-leggd Partridge and a Tree Sparrow in the field and a Willow Tit along Greenford Lane.

Lamesley area - The Common Crane still present and can be seen either at Lamesley Water Meadows or Ouslaw Lane (Kibblesworth - Lamesley). 2 Little Owl and 2 Tawny Owl both seen along the lane at dusk. Many Red-legged Partridge recently released here for shooting.
East Bradley Fell - 4-5pm: 10 Crossbill over. Also c15 Tree Sparrow and 50+ Redwing in Hawthorns.

Lamesley area - 1 Common Crane flew from Ravensworth Fell and relocated at Lamelsey Water Meadows at 12:30hrs where it remained until 15:30hrs at least.It or another refound along Ouslaw Lane (Kibblesworth - Lamesley) at 18:10 hrs and a Little Owl seen along the lane at dusk.1 Green Sandpiper on the water meadows
