Kibblesworth Brickwork pools A party of 15 Crossbills arrived to drink from the pool.

Kibblesworth Brickwork pools - , 2 Oyster-catcher, singing Blackcap and Chiffchaff and a Green Woodpecker flew over.
Birtley Reedbeds - 150 Common Swift and a brood of 2 Tufted Duck. Singing Lesser Whitethroat near the sewage works

Shibdon Pond - Shoveler present on the pond and 3 Reed Warbler still singing.

Shibdon Pond - . An observer reports that he is 99% sure he had a male Brambling here today. 1

Shibdon Pond - Pair of Pochard still present.
Wardley Country Park - Singing Grasshopper Warbler and a pair of Grey Partridge.
Kibblesworth Brickwork pools - Single pairs of Little Ringed Plover and Oyster-catcher. Broods of Wren and Great Tit seen.
Lamesley Water Meadows - Kinfisher and Common Tern both spent a little while here feeding. Sparrowhawk over and 7 Redshank on the nearby church pool
Clara Vale - A flock of 15 Crossbill flew over from the direction of Close Hose early morning.

Thornley Lane, Rowlands Gill - A Hobby flew over. Later whan may have been a different bird was seen just inside of Gateshead flying towards Ouston.

Shibdon Pond - 5 Reed Warbler, 2 Garden Warbler singing and 4, possibly 5 broods of Canadaa Goose. 1 brood of Mute Swan
Chopwell Woods - 3-4 Crossbill heard, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, single singing Blackcap and Garden Warbler, 1 Common Buzzard and 1 Red Kite.

Lamesley - 2 Little Ringed Plover, 5 Redshank, 2 Tufted Duck and fledged Lapwing and a brood of Pied Wagtail.
Pennyfine Road, Sunniside - Nuthatch, Chiffchaff and 5 Curlew.

Thornley Woodland Centre - A pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers were watched feeding a recently fledged youngster

East Bradley Fell - Cuckoo calling plus Curlew and singing Reed Bunting (perhaps 3 territories above the old workings area this year in the meadow and oilseed rape fields). Yellowhammer still widespread with a good number of singing males although Linnet numbers down on previous years
Lintzford - Two young Tawny Owls in an observer's garden last night - see photo.
