Thornley Lane - Possible eagle sp seen over!!
Recent ringing recoveries:- Barn Owl ringed W Gateshead as pullus 11 July 06 found Hallington 21 Dec 06 caught on barbed wire, taken into care and released 30 Jan, 163 days 20km WNW. Coal Tit Gibside ringed as 1st year 14 Nov 01, found freshly dead Rowlands Gill 26 Mar 07, 1958 days, 2 km W

Lamesley- 1 sparrowhawk and dozens of juvenile goldfinch.
Kibblesworth Brickworks Pond - 1 green woodpecker, 1 immature great spotted woodpecker, 1 sparrowhawk, 1 kestrel, 1 willow tit.
Burdon Moor - 2 well grown juv Stonechat and Green Sandpiper on one of the pools

Shibdon Pond - Red Kite over the pond being mobbed by the Common Terns

Shibdon Pond -- 1st summer moulting to 2nd winter Mediterranean Gull for at least half an hour this afternoon sat on post in front of hide. Also 8 ad and 6 juv Little Grebes, a few of the young Common Terns are now flying and giving good views in front of hide, Water Rail calling , juvenile Reed Warblers + 2 adults and a couple more singing, Sedge Warblers singing, 2 juv Siskin.

Shibdon Pond - 5 Little Grebes, 70+ Coots and chicks, 1 lapwing, 30+ Common Terns and Chicks, 30+ Canada Geese, 30+ Mallards, 2 Grey Heron, 10 Black Headed Gull, 12+ Moorhens and Chicks, pair of Mute Swans and 9 cygnets, 8 Magpie, 5 Cormorant, 2 Goldfinch, 2 Greenfinch, 2 Swallow, 1 Chiffchaff. Also a Red-tailed Bumble Bee and 1 Buff-tailed Bumble Bee.
Kibblesworth Brickworks Pool - 1 Grayling, pair of Tufted Duck plus 3 young, brood of Canada Geese and a Grey Lag.
Birtley sewage works - 1 Ringlet

Lamesley - 2 Barn Owls putting on a good show last night, hunting the R.Team meadows, close to Lamesley church.
Ravensworth / Kibblesworth - Good population of Little Owls in the area with perhaps 9 pairs, at least 4 with young.
Team valley area - Swift no's starting to build, 200+ in Team valley area
