Chopwell Woods - AFlock of Crossbill at the entrance to the wood at Lintzford were calling. Also a Buck Roe Deer in the woods.

Derwenthaugh - Pair of Goosander , Birch Polypore fungi and a Carrion Crow feeding on the best Salmon - two dead Salmon today
Burdon Moor - Woodcock flushed from side of road over Burdon Moor at 1900hrs.
Chopwell Woods - Red Kite 7, Woodpigeon 26, Dipper 3,Dunnock, Blackbird, Long-tailed Tit, Great Tit, Nuthatch, Jackdaw, Chaffinch, Siskin 250, Common Crossbill 1, Black-headed Gull 4, Great Spotted Woodpecker 5, Wren, Robin, Song Thrush, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Treecreeper 2, Carrion Crow, Goldfinch, Lesser Redpoll 50, Bullfinch 7. Crossbill was a female bird in flight calling following the small flock of siskin, in the wooded area of Larch in the south east of the wood.

Sled Lane Pond - Frozen - 15-20 Coot gathered on ice with a few Mute Swan, Canada Geese, Mallard, and Black-headed Gull.
Derwenthaugh Meadows - 30 +Redshank today and a few Fieldfare
Hagghill - 24 Fieldfare, a Mole and 2 Roe Deer visited one garden.
Shibdon Pond - 2 Woodcock. The Brent Goose was feeding with the Canada Geese but wouldn’t come to bread and walked away if you went towards it…apparently.

Year list stands at 91 - Mediterranean Gull was new today.

Shibdon Pond - 2 male Pochard, 1 Goosander, 2 Shelduck, pair of Tufted Duck the Brent Goose has now moved here and associating with the Canada Geese. Later it was showing be be very tame enabling on to walk right up to it.

Hagghill, Winlaton - 7 Whooper Swan and 2 Common Snipe flew over.
Clara Vale LNR - 3 Pink-footed Geese over flew very low and 1 Kingfisher and 2 Snipe on the reserve. 8 Tree Sparrows, 1 Willow Tit, 2 Reed Bunting and 12 Yellowhammers visiting feeder in a garden in the village.

Kibblesworth - 1 Woodcock, 6 Curlew, 1 Chiffchaff (in Conifer Plantation just South of bridlepath, associating with Goldcrest & Coal Tit).

Shibdon Pond - 4 Woodcock , 10+Snipe   2 Water Rail, pair of Goosander , 1 Grey Heron  20+ Goldfinch and 5 Reed Bunting
Sunniside - Flock of 150 Pink-footed Geese flew South at 15:40hrs and a Red Kite over.
Westfield Pasture - No less than 7 Woodcock were flushed here late afternoon.
Winlaton Mill - Flock of 70 Pink-footed Geese flew over.

Bradley Fell - A male Brambling on garden feeders this morning with 2+ Willow Tit, 2 Nuthatch, numerous Bullfinch Chaffinch, Coal, Blue & Great Tits, Goldfinch and Greenfinch. Tawny Owl earlier at first light.
