Redpolls of the Derwent Walk CP A flock of Lesser Redpoll found earlier in the month held a few Mealies. On Sunday 23rd the flock of nearly 100 birds contained 12+ Mealy Redpolls, at least one of which showed a prominent unstreaked rump. Another, was larger and whiter than any of the Mealies but had fairly streaked undertail coverts. Having sought some expert opinion it was thought that at least 1 bird is a possible Coues' Arctic Redpoll Top possible Coues's, bottom two Lesser Redpoll and the Redpoll flock, rest Mealy Redpolls.
